The LIZ CD-ROM contains around 780 Italian literary texts from 180 authors dating from the thirteenth century through to the twentieth century (over 21 million words). It is available at all time in the Rading Room on computer 2.
Getting started
Click on the Liz Icon on computer 2. This will open the word search window (Parola). Enter the word you are searching, use this character `*’ at the end if you wish the computer to find all words beginning with the root you have just typed.
A window will open with the results of your query. Click each word to see the context in which they appear.
Click each context to see the broader context.
Advanced features
The search interface allows to search individual text, the entire corpus or a selected corpus to be constructed by author, genre, century and other specifications. Searches can be words, part of words, and multiple words. The search interface also allows for the creation of word indices by alphabet, frequency, incipits, and explicits.
