This guide is a introduction to the survival of seven planetary deities in European culture as recorded by Early Modern illustrated books kept in the various subject areas of the Library.

It proceeds floor by floor and may serve not only as a point of access to anyone interested in aspects of the survival of the Greco-Roman pantheon, but also as an example of the ways in which the Library classification is particularly suited to tracking the paths of ideas, themes and images across various disciplines, and across time and space.
