Periodicals Available Online
JSTOR provides full-text, fully searchable access to a rapidly growing list of over 1000 academic periodicals. Notable titles include: The Journal of the History of Ideas, The Journal of the Warburg and Courtauld Institutes, History and Theory, Modern Language Notes, The Sixteenth Century Journal, Renaissance Quarterly, Representations and Speculum. The journals can be browsed by discipline.
Ingenta hosts the electronic versions of a range of periodicals to which the Institute subscribes. Titles include: Al-Masaq, Aries, Journal of Early Modern History, Medieval Encounters, Numen, Oud Holland, Quaerendo, Reinardus, Studia Neophilologica, Vivarium and Zeitschrift für Religions- und Geistesgeschichte. These are available only from Institute computers.
Oxford University Press Journals to which the Institute subscribes are available online from Institute computers from 1996 onwards. These titles are: British Journal for the Philosophy of Science, French Studies, Journal of the History of Collections and Oxford Art Journal.
Cambridge University Press Journals to which the Institute subscribes are available online from Institute computers. These journals are: Arabic Sciences and Philosophy, Britannia: A journal of Romano-British and kindred studies, Harvard Theological Review, Journal of the Royal Asiatic Society and Medieval Philosophy and Theology.

Persée website for scientific journals in social and human sciences, established by the French Ministry of State Education, Higher Education and Research. The PERSEE website has as its mission the digitisation and online distribution of back collections of a vast corpus of periodicals. Titles include Annales, Melanges de l'École française de Rome and Seizième Siècle, as well as the publications of the École Française de Rome. Free.
Revues.org : Created in 2007, the Centre pour l’édition électronique ouverte (CLEO) is jointly run by the Centre national de la recherche scientifique, l’École des hautes études en sciences sociales, l’Université d’Avignon and l’Université de Provence. Titles include l’Annuaire du Collège de France, Cahiers de recherches médiévales et humanistes, Italique and Recherches sur Diderot et sur l'Encyclopédie. Free.
The Internet Library of Early Journals has digitised substantial runs of 18th and 19th century journals. Titles available are: Annual Register, Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine, The Builder, Gentleman's Magazine, Notes and Queries and Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society.
Hein-On-Line is an image-based collection of legal periodicals. Hein-On-Line provides each journal from its inception and continues to the most current volume allowed under contract between Hein and the journal. The University of London List of Serials allows searches across the periodicals holdings of the constituent libraries of the University of London and the University of Westminster.
SUNCAT is the Serials Union Catalogue for the UK. It currently includes records from 79 UK research libraries, including the British Library, the National Libraries of Scotland and Wales, some of the largest Higher Education institutions in the UK and a number of specialist libraries. Serials holdings from new libraries will be added over time.
The arlis.net periodicals database is hosted by the Art Libraries Society. It provides details of around 18,000 magazines on art, architecture and design. The database is compiled from information supplied by more than 90 academic, public, national and special libraries throughout the UK and Ireland.
Zetoc is the British Library's Electronic Table of Contents (ETOC). The database contains details of approximately 20,000 current journals and 16,000 conference proceedings published per year. A list of journal titles covered by the database is available.
