Information on funding opportunites for MAand PhD applications can be found here: (for information on funding/grant deadlines click here).

Students applying for the MA in Cultural and Intellectual History will need to translate two short passages into English with the help of a dictionary: one post-classical Latin text and one text from another Renaissance European language. If you are attending the interview in person you can chose whether to take the two language tests on the day or whether you wish to take the tests at a later date once you know the result of your interview. Students having their interview via Skype can take the language tests remotely by email at a date to be agreed with the candidate. In all these translations candidates are not expected to demonstrate more than a good foundation and an ability to improve. Language training is an integral part of the course.
