Peltz Scholarships 2020-21

Tue 4 February 2020

Thanks to an increase in support from Daniel and Elizabeth Peltz, we are now able to offer four scholarships for the 2020-21 academic year. The scholarships are open to Home/EU students who are studying full time on either an MA or MRes programme at the Institute. We are extremely grateful for their continued generosity and Daniel Peltz OBE said:

“It is increasingly difficult for students to undertake postgraduate study in arts and humanities due to the lack of funding. We fund the Peltz Scholarship because
we believe that society has as much responsibility to educate adults as it does children. Our aim is to give something back to the next generation of postgraduate students and enable them to access the amazing opportunities offered by the Warburg Institute’s academic programmes.”

Daniel Peltz, OBE

This will be the third year that we’ve had Peltz Scholars at The Warburg Institute, and the impact that the Scholarships have on our students is clear. As previous Peltz Scholar Rita Yates noted, it not only provides financial support but also "places confidence in the student to continue with their education". Rita has now graduated from the Warburg’s MA in Art History, Curatorship and Renaissance Culture , completed a prestigious internship at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge and is back at the Institute undertaking an MPhil/PhD.

"The generosity of Daniel and Elizabeth Peltz helps us to bring committed and gifted students to the Warburg. They have helped to further Rita’s career - a huge and satisfying achievement not only for Rita, but also for the Institute. We are very grateful for their support, and look forward to another year of working together."
