Tips for Using the Yorke Collection Catalogue

The manuscript material is divided into two series: OS and NS.

The OS ('old series') is material that was arranged by Gerald Yorke and retains his ordering and descriptions.

The NS ('new series') is material which was donated by Gerald Yorke's family after his death. It was prepared by the Warburg Institute and follows Gerald Yorke's ordering and description style.

As the material is not arranged chronologically or alphabetically, we recommend that readers first consult the A-Z index for their subject of interest. Once you have identified the relevant folder numbers, you can find descriptions of their contents in the PDF catalogues.
