The Warburg Institute offers a sixteen-session online language course in Classical Greek at intermediate level across the Autumn and Spring Terms 2022-2023 (eight sessions per term). This course is aimed at those who already have some grounding in Greek, and it is expected that students will already have a decent grasp of nouns, pronouns, adjectives and verbs (active forms in the present, future, imperfect and aorist tenses, and present, future and aorist participles).
We will be using John Taylor's Greek to GCSE (Part 2), Revised Edition, and linguistic coverage will entail (inter alia) middle and passive voices in various tenses, and a range of constructions. During the course we will also read together extracts from ancient Greek literature, and consider the continued use and role of the language in the early modern period.
