Applications must be submitted between April 2nd – April 14th, 2024

This fellowship from the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg serves to support scholarly projects requiring a sojourn for studies at the Warburg Institute, University of London, for project realization. This fellowship is available to undergraduate (in preparation for a doctorate), graduate and post graduate students enrolled at Universität Hamburg. In particular projects that have a broad cultural studies approach merit financial support. The grant is €2,748 per month for a period of six months (period of funding July 1st to December 31st 2024) + verifiable necessary travel expenses. An extension of the fellowship is possible on request, on the condition that state funding is available. The application must be written in English. Please submit with the application:

  • Exposé and study plan for the scholarly undertaking
  • statement, agreed with the Warburg Institute, that the planned project is feasible at the Warburg Institute (contact Warburg Institute: Rebekah Pool, Rebekah.pool@sas.ac.uk)
  • account of your academic and scholarly background and development
  • letter of recommendation from a researcher familiar with your planned scholarly project (in English)
