Mark Storey donates £120k to the Warburg Institute
We are extremely grateful to Mark Storey for his generous donation, and leadership shown, in support of the Warburg Institute. The donation will be directed to the priority projects of the Warburg Institute—most immediately the Warburg Renaissance project - a £14.5m investment in the transformation of the Institute, with the University of London making a commitment of £9.5m and additional £5m secured by philanthropy. Mark is the founder of Alcuin Capital, a member of the University of London’s Board of Trustees, and a long-time supporter of several institutes in the School of Advanced Study. An Oxford history graduate with an MA from Birkbeck, he has maintained strong academic and cultural interests in the areas of books, history and libraries.
We have now secured almost all of the funding needed to proceed with the Warburg Renaissance project, and have started to garner support for the people, programmes and collections that will keep the Warburg secure, vibrant and visible.
