We're pleased to announce that Senate House Library and School of Advanced Study libraries (of which the Warburg Library is one) at the University of London has been shortlisted for Outstanding Library Team in THE Awards 2021(Opens in new window). It is a great testament to the hard work of the team that developed services and programmes to keep them going during the pandemic despite the many obstacles.
Senate House Library adapted six primarily onsite services into online based products for both SHL and SAS libraries at the University of London, ensuring services continued throughout the pandemic. As a result, over 35,000 Library member students/researchers were able to study from home with both physical items and online resources in 2020.
There were over 8.3 million online resource engagements across SHL and SAS libraries in 2020. The work of Engagement teams resulted in a 50% increase in engagement with both the wider HE sector and public audiences. All of this work provided essential library services, research advice and engagement both onsite in Central London and remotely/virtually, direct to people’s homes, when many other national and leading research institutions remained closed or had limited capacity.
