Research
Antonia holds BA (Hons) and PhD degrees from the Courtauld Institute of Art. Her dissertation focused on 16th-century Florentine sculpture collections with a focus on the collections of four Florentine fuorusciti families operating within the shadow of the Medici grand dukes. Material from that research has also led to further studies on the all’ antica bronze sculptures of Ludovico Lombardo and on Daniele de Volterra’s bronze portrait heads of Michelangelo (see Publications).
Her current focus is on the work of the 18th-century sculptor, Franz Xaver Messerschmidt and and 16th- century Italian sculpture.
