Word, Image and Memory: Aby Warburg and Anselm Kiefer
Gagosian and the Warburg Institute held an online panel discussion on word, image and memory, to celebrate the auction of donated works to support the Warburg Renaissance—an ambitious project to realise the Institute’s founding vision, placing art at its heart. The auction is hosted by Phillips and will take place as part of the 20th Century & Contemporary Day Sale on 4th March in London. Find out more about the auction.
The lots include a new original work by Anselm Kiefer in his series ‘The Morgenthau Plan.’ In this talk, the Warburg Institute’s Director, Bill Sherman, discusses Kiefer’s resonant work with two of the people who have worked most closely with him, Gagosian’s Richard Calvocoressi and Robin Vousden.
