Institute Building and Facilities

Accessing the Institute Building

Before you are able to enter the building for the first time you will need to read:

  • UOL return to work brochure
  • Warburg Induction PowerPoint

You must then complete the 'Student Safety Induction Form' to confirm you have read and understood the documents above and return it to administration.

All this information will be ciruclated to you prior to the 5 October 2020 to give you time to return it.

Quiet Study Spaces

Taught Students

We are able to provide a number of quiet study spaces outside of the Library for students to use. These will be available to be used during the Institute building opening hours and will need to be booked using the booking system.

Research Students

All PhD students have been contacted to see if they wish to use a quiet study space in the autumn term. We are currently in the process of allocating study spaces to those students. If you did not originally request a study space but now feel that you would like to use one, please contact susanne.page@sas.ac.uk.

Refreshment Facilities and Common Room

At present the Institute’s main common room is being used for teaching purposes and is therefore closed. We have provided a kitchen for students to use on the third floor of the Insitute. To ensure all Institute users are able to maintain social distancing requirements, please only use the third floor kitchen. Once you have made your drink, there is temporary common room in the Bing Room, which is opposite the third floor kitchen. Due to social distancing measures, only four people can use this common room space at any one time, so please limit your time in the space to 15 minutes.

Sanitisers and wipes are available, please follow the signage and wipe down all surfaces you have touched when using the spaces.

Please do not use any other Institute spaces to drink or eat in.

Lockers

Lockers are available for students on payment of a returnable deposit of a £5 note, which will be forfeited if you lose the key. Susanne Page will contact all students with instructions on how to obtain their locker.
